RE: Catalunya Motogp Tomorrow - the Ferret - 06-15-2014 Did you know Pedrosa is the winningest GP rider ever to ride for Honda? 1/4 of their MotoGP wins in the modern 4 stroke era since 2002 have come from Pedrosa. 5 more wins than Rossi on a Honda. Together they have nearly 1/2 the wins RE: Catalunya Motogp - CB4ME_imp - 06-16-2014 The Moto2 race was fairly typical for Moto2. Torres was an exception, advancing about 8 places until he crashed out late in the race. Aegerter was right behind him and did an incredible job of not only missing him, but running through the gravel trap at high speed and rejoining the race.
RE: Catalunya Motogp - redbirds_imp - 06-16-2014 The Moto3 race was a cliff hanger also, at least for the final two podium spots. The younger Marquez brother had a comfortable lead at race end but seven riders fought hard for second and third. Scott Miller made a valiant charge on the last lap to go from eighth to fourth. It was reported that this GP marked the first time that siblings had won in two different classes on the same day. If Suzuki is able to build a competitive bike a switch to Suzuki would give Pedrosa the chance to be a team leader and perhaps, revitalize his career. He certainly showed some real fire at Catalunya. RE: Catalunya Motogp - the Ferret - 06-16-2014 Pedrosa is the best rider never to win a championship in the premier class IMO. Of course he has a 125 and (2) 250 World Championship titles, but just can't seem to crack the nut in the Premier class. In 2012 he won 7 MotoGPs and still lost the championship. Up until this year I think he has been on the podium in 83% of the races he has entered. Hellofva racer for 5'2 112# riding a 250 horsepower motorcycle. Honda believes in Dani, even though most American race fans hate him. I'm a big fan of # 26. Not the most personable guy in the world, but I like his ability to pilot a MotoGP machine. Part of Dani's value to Honda is that he has always kept a lot of valuable points out of the hands of Yamaha riders, plus he is always in contention for the Championship. If something were to happen to Marquez, Dani is right there in the standings. RE: Catalunya Motogp - CB4ME_imp - 06-17-2014 current standings: MARQUEZ 175 ROSSI 117 PEDROSA 112 LORENZO 78 DOVIZIOSO 71 RE: Catalunya Motogp - redbirds_imp - 06-17-2014 (06-17-2014, 09:14 PM)The ferret_imp Wrote:(06-17-2014, 09:08 PM)redbirds_imp Wrote: This is on the Motogp website. I think some of this dislike for dani can be traced to his first season in Motogp when he collided with Hayden and nearly cost Nicky the championship. Dani is one of the all time best but has had the misfortune of being teamed with super aliens like Stoner and now Marquez. I would love to see him win at least one world championship before he retires. RE: Catalunya Motogp - the Ferret - 06-18-2014 Wow, just read a report that Lorenzo wants a 1 year deal with Yamaha, (Yamaha wants a 2 year deal) before considering a move to Ducati for 2016. Has he learned nothing from Stoner, Rossi, Dovisioso and Crutchlow? Wow, just wow. RE: Catalunya Motogp - redbirds_imp - 06-18-2014 Ducati? The career destroyer. Ducati must have made an offer comparable to a Power Ball win. With all that Audi money, why are they (Ducati) not doing better? Dovizioso and Crutchlow are talented riders. |
