Replaced a bent clutch lever on my Ducati, not realizing the interlock switch beneath the perch needed to be realigned to the new lever (to allow the bike to start in gear.) Very long story, but my failure to recognize that little detail resulted in a 50 mile tow after stopping for lunch. The gearbox was unknowingly stuck in a false neutral between 2nd and 3rd gear and wouldn't start while it was still "in gear." Doh.
