Beware the old guys with full but mismatched gear whose bikes may not be shining but are well maintained.
Heck, was riding my Ural recently and passed a Harley with a sidecar - even he wouldn't wave to me!

I'll be 71 in 2 weeks time, but I don't feel old. However my riding gear is considered old school. Wait till I get my air-cooled motorcycle with wire wheels. The youngsters will be asking me if I need help kick starting it.
When I meet these frail looking Harley riders, I just smile and hope I will be able to ride as long as them. They are always great to talk to because they have a lifetime of stories to tell. I can't imagine riding during the age of steam powered locomotives and unpaved roads.

As an Indian man ( read: Gandhi), I could never make myself own or ride a Harley. It's too "born to be wild" for my blood. I always loved UJM. Grew up dreaming of Yamaha RD350. Although, If Royal Enfield ever makes a decent 1000 cc bike, I may decide to sell my CB.
Stereotypes are not always correct but they are a good starting point.

Funny..this morning it was 43 when I took off to meet my son, a nephew and my son's father in law for a run down to see some classic cars (and 1 classic bike CB350F) but mostly cars..a McLaren, Jags, Porches, Austin Healy's, MG's, Mustangs etc at this little gathering spot near downtown Cinti called Fuel Coffee. My first and last time there lol (it was a zoo). Anyhow I dressed for the weather. While we were there 3 guys on Harleys with real high bars and life saving pipes showed up. My son said 'Look dad, you were wearing a balaclava under your full face helmet this morning and they are not even wearing helmets". I said "yep, told ya before son, I'm not tough enough to ride a Harley"

I would say you're not ignorant enough Ferret to be one of those riders as I have seen their type on every brand not just Harleys.
