It is, Ferret, but it was a couple of months ago now.

RE: Mileage Milestones Part 2 - the Ferret - 08-23-2025

Ok, if we're going to include vehicles other than our CB1100's, then I'll post my 1981 VW Diesel Rabbit. This picture was taken six years ago. I am the original owner, and I still own this car. It doesn't get driven a whole lot now, but it now has over 434,000 miles on it.

Wow! Nice Rabbit. My high school auto shop teacher drove a Rabbit diesel. If I recall, it died a horrible death when a very well-meaning but misinformed student mistook the oil cap for the radiator cap and filled the engine to capacity with water.

Thanks Gone in 60. That picture of my car is missing the chrome strips that are located beneath the doors, which I have since reinstalled.

You reminded me of a high school shop story: Our instructor told us that when he was in the military, working in the vehicle repair shop, the lead mechanic told a new recruit to fill the jeep up with oil, so he did. He filled it completely, up to the top of the oil fill hole! When they started it, oil exploded out of every possible place you can think of in the engine!

Wow, that's some serious mileage!
