We're about 350 lbs together. An extra five pounds of air in the rear tire and another two clicks on the rear suspension and we're golden. Plenty of power. We have the Corbin seat. I love it, but I also commute by bike about three days a week, and it's formed to my posterior. My wife thinks it's too hard after about 45 minutes. I think she needs to ride more Either that is some sweet shifting and braking, or the traffic, roads and cager behaviour are magical? lol! i shift pretty smoothly, it's true, but i can't take credit. i would never have thought it possible for somebody to fall asleep on a motorcycle but my wife can definitely do it. typically, if we're going 2 up somewhere it's going to be some country roads, not the interstate, so there's not really any cager/traffic activity to speak of. 60 miles or so of two lane pavement and pine trees is enough to knock her out. the same thing happens to her behind the wheel of her own car if she drives too long. she suffers from acute road hypnosis. edit: it's worth mentioning that at about 2500rpms the CB1100 feels almost like an electric bike, so perhaps she wouldn't fall asleep quite as fast on a bigger twin. RE: Any 2 up riders ? - GoldOxide_imp - 11-12-2018 Serious stuff, and been there ... once. I fell asleep one late night coming home on my CB750S. The stretch where it occurred was for less than a mile, however, I woke up riding the center yellow line. I did not hit any oncoming traffic. That "cold streak" went up the spine and I never let that happen ever again. |
