Those paving stones in the last set of photos sure look slippery. I would definitely feel a pucker riding on them! Luckily I have some experiences with military bikes and motocross from decades ago. I rode my EX standing on the footpegs…and it was fun

RE: 10 days - 3 business meetings (each for several days) - 5000 km - a lot of fun - ThomWill_imp - 08-03-2014 Beautiful country... my daughter just got back from 7 weeks of riding trains around Europe, she has many similarly stunning photos and a new found love for beer :-D RE: 10 days - 3 business meetings (each for several days) - 5000 km - a lot of fun - VTR1000F_imp - 08-03-2014 nice scenery and beautiful bike. Can a man ask for more? I imagine that US guys probably do not know riding on paving stones. That´s something we Europeans know wery well. Very "interesting" experience mainly when dusty paved street get wet by summer shower and water with dust creates a very slippery compound on top of the paving! Talk about off road capabilities! RE: 10 days - 3 business meetings (each for several days) - 5000 km - a lot of fun - ClassicVW_imp - 08-04-2014 No, thankfully we here in the U.S. don't have to contend with shiny, wet paving stones. Many years ago our cities were paved with them and we catch a view of them under the asphalt sometimes when a street is opened for utilities service or repair. I can think of one steep hill near me that still has them but that's about it. The Belgian Block that was used became so desirable for private drives and for landscaping uses that a couple of entire city blocks of them were dug up and stolen in the middle of the night! And nobody saw anything!
