Short Shield Shakedown Ride - Cormanus - 03-30-2015 Nice work, Ferret. Glad it's worked out. RE: Short Shield Shakedown Ride - CIP57_imp - 03-30-2015 This is as close to a sweet spot as it gets without having the option like the ST to move it for different riding. The shield has no effect on handling through your favorite roads, you'll really feel the difference at highway speeds or on those long strips. I'll have to measure mine but looking at the upper mounts yours looks cut down a bit more, I have 10 1/4 over the key. You just need to round off the edges. I straight cut across will give you a drop of about 3/4" on the ends, if you put a level in the middle. RE: Short Shield Shakedown Ride - the Ferret - 03-30-2015 CIP I am 1/4" above yours at 10 1/2" with 1/2" gap between headlight rim and bottom of shield. I went ahead and pulled it out to the edge as you suggested and tilted it as far back as I am comfortable with. I didn't notice any headlight reflection yesterday but it was bright and sunny out. My shield measures 11 1/2" where yours measures 10" which accounts for the headlight being up on the newer model. We are the same as far as the height. The shield lights up like a Christmas tree if its to far forward. I tested mine in a semi dark garage. |
