RE: Got a new CB !!! - Cormanus - 11-02-2018 What a funny thing. I was looking at an old thread a minute ago and saw your handle. I thought, ‘I wonder what happened to Rebel73?’ I move on and there you are. Congratulations. They look like great bikes. A report would be great when your out of the run-in period. Or before. I thought, ‘I wonder what happened to Rebel73?’ I move on and there you are. Thanks, Cormanus. That is funnny how the universe works. I know I've been MIA for a while but I'm still around. Been commuting on my DLX every day. I love both my bikes now but for different reasons. The DLX is a classic beauty and the 1KR is a neo-retro beast. Can't wait to get past the break-in and try my hand at sport mode. ;-) Got a new CB !!! - Capo - 11-02-2018 I dig that bike, eager to hear your longer term report. Congrats! RE: Got a new CB !!! - Frulk_imp - 11-02-2018 For me this is hands down one of the best looking interpretations of what can be done with the CB. RE: Got a new CB !!! - Rebel73_imp - 11-07-2018 So took the CB1KR for a nice ride on Sunday through Tujunga Canyon as part of the yearly Hansem Dam Ride here in So Cal. Being that I was still in break-in, I kept it in standard mode. Regardless, all I can say is HOLY MOLY, what a beast. The power (even at 2/3) and handling are amazing! Steering input is so responsive, my cornering confidence was leaps above the 1100. Cornering clearance is of no concern. The power delivery concerns are utterly unfounded, IMHO. Maybe the guys who said that crap are Vespa riders. This motorcycle is so composed and rock solid, and takes corners with utter aplomb. RE: Got a new CB !!! - LouA_imp - 11-07-2018 Hey,Reb...when I first saw your pix I thought you were on a 125,or ,dare I say it ....a grom! Either that's a small liter bike or you're one big dude! Either that's a small liter bike or you're one big dude! The bike is actually quite tall, but slim. It weighs in at around 465 wet. I'm only about 5'11", but pretty built at around 215lbs. |
