Gads it's got to be hard to be a motorcyclist living up there. We start riding in early May - sometimes late April - but summer heat doesn't arrive until June. That said, the past two summers have been the hottest on record and the same is expected this year so maybe the warmer temps will arrive earlier. RE: Ahh March in Florida - GoldOxide_imp - 03-09-2020 If you requirement for riding is over 20C, yeah, then areas like Ottawa and Rocky's stompin' grounds can be problematic at times. But at least the snow is [mostly] gone. But at least the snow is [mostly] gone. We have had one of the most open and mild winters in many years - possibly never. No snow to speak of and silly temps well above freezing in February. 8C (46F) was becoming common, but the temps would yo-yo and plunge to -8C (18F) and then back up again. Some hardcore types even had bikes out. No thanks, too early for me. Spring can be a mess with winter hanging on so this year should be interesting ![]() There were many days during July and August last year when it was so disgustingly hot and humid that "only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noon day sun" type of heat. My Eskimo blood isn't up for that

Those pipes for a "13" look awesome. Getting ready to install a 4x2 oem exhaust so I no longer have to polish every time I ride!!!!!!!!

Wish I could help with that one, but Panama City is 360 miles from me, have not ridden that far on my CB. Have a fun trip!
RE: Ahh March in Florida - Offroad - 03-10-2020 Rode to Pensacola last year, the Navy Air Museum is good, but the traffic was bad (spring break doesn't help). Rode to Mexico Beach saw the hurricane damage...Pretty sad and amazing.. Thought about riding up to Birmingham to the Barber Museum but that's a 600 mile round trip, too much for one day. Thought about riding to Gulfport...500 mile round trip. 400 is about my limit. Thought about going east along 98 towards Cedar Key...another 500 mi...but doesn't look like you can ride along the beach...bummer. Maybe I'm spoiled....Cherokee, NC there are great roads in every direction lol....heading there 1st of May RE: Ahh March in Florida - redbirds_imp - 03-13-2020 There are some really fine roads near Panama City. Ride US 98 east then north to Tallahassee and check out the Canopy Roads around that city. Florida actually has some modest hills and great roads surrounding Tallahassee and west from there toward Chipley and Marianna. While in the area I wouldn't miss Wakulla Springs or Florida Caverns. RE: Ahh March in Florida - The A-man - 03-14-2020 Wish I could ride over to Cherokee to meet up with you, but I havE daughter's wedding to go to. Enjoy and ride safe! RE: Ahh March in Florida - Gone in 60 - 03-16-2020 I like the matching helmet and jacket. Been mulling the idea of a red helmet to match my bike. Mostly like the fact that you're wearing a helmet. Just spent two weeks working in Bradenton, and saw most Harley riders in doo rags and tank tops. I really like Florida in March. Summers... not so much. |
