But the reality for me is that the factory setup is missing the "soul" that the Staintune lends to the whole riding experience. A couple of days ago, I reinstalled the Staintune unit and that familiar extra stretch of grin immediately returned to my face. While it's not really all that much louder than the stock exhaust and any performance gains are minimal, it's the tone of the Staintune that makes all of the difference for me. It is simply music to my ears and makes the riding experience that much more enjoyable.

You know it's funny because I'll never forget the conversation with my wife right after I purchased the Staintune (I actually brought it home with the box strapped down to the back of my CB so it really stood out). There was no logical explanation for spending that kind of money for something to replace a perfectly good part on a then brand new motorcycle. Such an explanation still eludes me. Yet you are right, I've been totally happy with the purchase and have yet to see, or hear, another option that I personally would prefer over the Staintune for the CB.

I got such a chuckle out of your statement that I couldn't resist quoting it in my sig. It's really funny to think about, but it says a lot about those who ride year round (and are lucky enough to be able to do so) and how much we like to ride.
