RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Lord Popgun - 12-09-2023 Soon, a Padawan no longer you will be. Balanced the Force will be. RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - peterbaron - 12-09-2023 RLETS Master spoken has!!! RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Lord Popgun - 12-09-2023 And PB, the Ring is purring… RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - the Ferret - 10-08-2024 As a point of reference Part # 95010-16001 qty1 per package, so you need to buy 2 of them. They came on a lot of the CB Hondas from the late 60's early to mid 70's. The original 1968 Honda CB 750 had them at the Tokyo show. Honda chose to honor the CB line of motorcycles with the CB 1100, I chose to honor the CB series of motorcycles by having the Rlet's installed on my CB 1100 before I brought it home. Ordered in Dec 2012 picked up in April 2013 with Rlets. https://global.honda/en/CB/history/stories/1969/#:~:text=Nonetheless%2C%20the%20developers%20overcame%20the,an%20unimaginable%20road%20sports%20machine. If you look at the 7th and 8th pics down in the above link, you'll see Honda even installed them on their Grand Prix racers (obviously for luck and to make them go faster) RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Bazbro_imp - 10-08-2024 M I fitted my CB1100 with RLETS almost from the first moment that I'd got it. It was obligatory. I HAD to do it. However (as Bill Burr says!)... I did NOT remember black RLETS on my original CB750 back in 1972. My photos from that time are unclear, but my memory was that the level ends were covered in a clear, yellowy hard plastic, as if they'd been "dipped" - definitely NOT black rubber removable/replaceable RLETS. This has been nagging away at me from the very beginning, but I just put it on the back burner. But I have now bestirred myself to ask my chum, who had his 1974 CB750 when I had mine, to see if he can recall what the end of his bike's levers were like and if he has any photos. No photos, I'm afraid, but... he has confirmed my memory of a clear/yellowy plastic dip on his Lever-ends too. He says "No photos unfortunately. Definitely not black rubber ends. I do remember the entire lever having a clear coating of something though. Prevent corrosion perhaps?" So... that's made my mind easier, but alters nothing! All I can say is that CB750s imported into the UK in 1972 and 1974 did not have removable black RLETS, but were dipped in some kind of clear-ish plastic. There you go, cat... into the pigeons you go!! RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - the Ferret - 10-08-2024 Here ya go Bazbro https://classicavenue.com/product/1972-honda-cb750-k2/ |
