I live in a med. sized city and it works great for getting around and parking. I wish I could move back out to the "berbs" again but now that I am retired I can't afford to. I am sure the CBs gas mileage would drop a lot if I used it the way I use the PCX. I can run it in stop and go traffic all day and get 100mpg and still get a 12 pack of beer and brats and cheese under the seat\_/
Beer and brats,count me in!

I average between 46-48 mpg.

Well, Im all over the board so far with the 1100.Confused First tank was 50. Second was 44. THat was mostly running 70-75 into a headwind. Third tank which is my normal riding was 52.5. Pretty pleased with that last number. Never got over 60 much and had a fair amount of stop and go. THats about all my NIghthawk will do. The 1100 will burn more at speed like on interstates but seems to be just about equal to the older 750 sibling on the back roads. No gripes and still trying to get used to the fuel gauge. It blinked today at 137 miles and then quit and I stopped and filled it up and it only took 2.6 gallon. Sometimes the bars disappear and then reappear. Its strange and the best gas gauge is the odometer.

Mine is still breaking in, I think I have like 1400/1500 on it, and my last few tankfuls the MPG has gone up about 4 MPG each tankful. I'm at 52.5 now also. And that's spirited riding on mountain curves at approx. 45 MPH at 4-5 K RPM and higher.

There has got to be a difference in tuning or efficiency between '10/'11 models and the '13/'14 models. Pushing it hard in the hills gives me about 45 - 48 MPG. Average, over a fair mileage of 28260 or so, gives me 42MPG. City commuting drags the average down to that 42MPG. I suspect that Cormanus ('11model), and he will correct me if I am wrong, does a little better but I would be surprised if it's an average significantly in excess of 50MPG.

Cheers

The very best I've scored, and I think it was an aberration, was 52.9 mpg. My average is 44.2, and I don't think I ride it very hard. So, either you chaps in the US are incredibly gentle, or there's been a change. In something.

Just went out and checked my computer from yesterdays ride which was pretty spirited in very hilly land. Not over 65 mph. Ran 164 miles averaged 58.6 mpg. The computer is usually about 1 mpg off when I figure it manually so between 57 and 58 mpg.

Amazing, even with the extra gear. I routinely travel at a bit over 65, but seldom more than about 4100 rpm and I get nothing like that. I think there must be something in Pterodactyl's hypothesis.

RE: Gas Mileage? - Powerdogg55 - 10-28-2014

Just checked the clock. 49.9 on last trip.

RE: Gas Mileage? - holy666diver_imp - 10-28-2014

On short trips to work or to the store (5-6 miles) on the side roads in traffic I get 37.8 mpg on the freeway I get up to 45mpg. Does the computer on the bike calculate correctly? Bike is still breaking in too I'm at around 800 miles.
