RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - davidsargee_imp - 08-01-2016 Hello All, I am finally taking a vacation from the lab courier gig, (a week), and am taking the time to relax a little. I caught up my mileage on the chart through July, I now have logged a grand total of 16074 miles for the year so far. This is just one incredible bike folks, my 2013 now has a little over 31k miles, and I will readily admit that some of the maintenance chores, which I do myself, have fallen a bit behind. You can't tell it however, as the CB just keeps on going. It is running better than ever. Just to show what I am talking about, I am still running the factory spark plugs, factory chain, and front and rear sprockets. Yes, that is not a typo, I now have 31k miles on the factory chain and sprockets, and they are still in good shape. I oil the chain religiously every 300-500 miles, this is the only thing to which I can attribute this. I very well know when a chain and/or sprockets are worn out, and these are not, (scratching my head). Finally checked the valve clearances at 24k miles, (my buddy did it while I, er, assisted), they were all within spec, no adjustment needed. I'm catching up all of the maintenance chores while I'm off this week, and I was going to leave the bike in the garage and drive the car, but, I just had to go for a ride this afternoon. As usual, it put a big ole' grin on my face from start to end. Until next time, Cheers!
RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - the Ferret - 08-01-2016 Congrats David and keep racking up those miles brother. These are special bikes indeed. Honda built em right! Chain indicator just now "in the green" and sprockets look good. (a fellow member of the FSSNOC group has over 75,000 on his KLR 650 chain and it still looks good. He hopes to go 100,000 miles)! RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - kennyw - 08-01-2016 David, good thing you are taking a week of vacation. Otherwise you might have passed me on the leaderboard. RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - the Ferret - 08-01-2016 Good thing some of the other high mileage riders aren't playing or I wouldn't even be in the top 10 lol.... you guys rock! RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - curlyjoe_imp - 08-31-2016 I don't come close to you guys at the top but I had a good riding month in August for me. 669 miles on the CB and 1899 miles on my "new" ST. RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - the Ferret - 08-31-2016 That's a great month curlyjoe and about the ratio I try and keep on my CB and ST. As a matter of fact just got in from last ride of the month and numbers look like this Rode 31 of 31 days again this month and rolled over 201 days ridden for the year out of 244 possible (12 days I was on Vacation with my wife). This month rode ST 1860 miles and CB 816 miles for monthly total of 2676 miles and yearly total of 15,450 miles. Puts ST at 9890 for year and CB at 5560 for year. Ideally I would like 15K a year on the ST and 5K a year on CB but the CB is such a pleasure to ride I ride it more than I should lol RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - curlyjoe_imp - 08-31-2016 Nice numbers Ferret. I'll probably keep a similar ST/CB ratio. The CB feels so light, refined and fun on the back roads a bit closer to home, but I can really reach out farther in New England with the ST on those long day trips. RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - the Ferret - 10-02-2016 Hey Django or Cormanus...need an October column ..haven't been able to post mileage for 2 days lol RE: cb1100 forum miles 2016 - Cormanus - 10-02-2016 You're good to go Ferret. |
