On one of my loops in Kentucky back roads 45-50 mph, not many stops I averaged 58 mpg. Coming home yesterday on I-75, running 70-75 mph I reached down and checked the fuel computer and I was getting 46 mpg. I was shocked! That is a huge difference. I did a little experiment today. I rode 105 miles out, all interstate and state highways, averaging 70-75 mph, filled up when I got there - 46 mpg. Same route back, averaging 60-65 mph, filled up near home - 53 mpg. No appreciable difference in headwinds or elevation at the end points. No doubt, that extra 10 mph sure ratchets down the mileage! Seems to meet the engineers claim that it was designed to run most efficient around 63mph RE: Gas Mileage? - CA200_imp - 09-30-2014 Now have run a few tanks through on new 19th sprocket and seems over all up a little and have had some 58 mpg so far 56.8, 53.08 , 56.4, 58.45 ,58.65 . My new PCX second tank got 110.4 mpg RE: Gas Mileage? - Randy B - 09-30-2014 So what your saying is to double the MPG you're going to need to cut the displacement by about 85%? I'm good.
RE: Gas Mileage? - CA200_imp - 10-01-2014 Randy the only reason I posted my new PCX150 gas mileage is some one said to keep everyone posted on how it went. I live in a med. sized city and it works great for getting around and parking. I wish I could move back out to the "berbs" again but now that I am retired I can't afford to. I am sure the CBs gas mileage would drop a lot if I used it the way I use the PCX. I can run it in stop and go traffic all day and get 100mpg and still get a 12 pack of beer and brats and cheese under the seat\_/ RE: Gas Mileage? - Powerdogg55 - 10-01-2014 Last tank the clock indicated 51 MPG. That's cruising back roads. Has had it now two years and it is amazing in the mileage department. Now when she would ride with me and we put a hundred miles plus on my cb1100 would need to fill up when she did peer the flashing fuel gauge at 114 miles... My best on the 1100 was 42 mpg and that happened once. RE: Gas Mileage? - the Ferret - 10-01-2014 A little slow most days Randy. It was quite funny once I got it though. |
