The four cylinder KZ 650 was a really nice bike. You are right, they should make more bikes like that.

They tried. Kawasaki's Zephyr series in the early 90's was basically a rehash of the KZ bikes of the 70s and 80s. The U.S. got the 750 and 1100. Europe also got the 550.

That was one of the reasons that prompted Honda to revive the CB750 Nighthawk in '91. Oddly enough the Zephyr boom really only took hold in Europe and Asia, so Kaw dropped them here after a few years. While the Nighthawk lived on until '03.

You are right Flynrider. Wrong time maybe? A buddy of mine bought a Zephyr a couple of years ago. Really nice retro styled bike.

Bringing back a retro vehicle is tricky business. You have to wait long enough so that folks have fond memories of them - and willing to put down serious money for them.

I think TV shows are easier to do.

My two cents (given my success rate, I'm over charging), bring back a retro four cylinder Goldwing to act as a bookend to the CB.

I dunnoi I kinda like the Old CB 1100.Call me old fashioned
or a fuddy-duddy.But I like the way things were.
Like the Old CB 1100 of last spring.I mean, like it's almost
one year old.As every parent knows, the older a kid gets the
more they git into.
I don't suppose my Old CB 1100 will get into too mush just
sitting { I mean standing } in the garage over winter.
But ya niver knowed.I've seen motorcycle go plum loco
in the winter.Cabin fever an all.
Better watch out, better not cry,Maybe Santa Claus will wanna
ride before he goes down the Chimney.

Love the looks of spokes, pipes and color coordinated side panels.

Man, if we are lucky enough to get that one... I'll be down at the dealer trading in my '13 faster
than you can say... WOW! The '13 is great... but this red '14 is perfect.

Im satisfied with my red 13. the 6th gear of the 14 won't justify a 4K USD difference in total cost but it is tempting unless it has far more power.

I walk out my house and mount the bike instead of getting in my car ... NOW ... when you remind me of it.
