RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - emptysea - 03-30-2016 I'm creeping up on 12k with my Michelins, I thnk, maybe 11,500. Will be replacing them, probably the week before the rally, along with new brakes. Gots to have the new rubber if I want to keep up with Mickey on the curvy roads. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - flynrider - 03-30-2016 I love these tires. The stock Bridgestones wore out fast and unevenly. My front PR3 has over 7K miles on it and looks hardly worn. My original front Bridgestone was completely bald at 6K. The rear PR3 has 4K on it and still looks new. On my CB750 I eventually found the optimum tire (for me) with the dual compound Bridgestone BT-45s. For the CB11, I think I've found the tire I'll be sticking with in the future. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - the Ferret - 03-30-2016 Django....That's only 4300 miles! Don't think I could keep up with your friends, they must ride a lot faster than I do lol RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - EJ from upstairs - 04-23-2016 Just got mine installed this week. Picked up a nice little screw in my rear last week and found out that the talk is indeed true about nobody out there being willing to fix it. I'm taking this bike on a 3,000 mile trip this summer and didn't really want to worry about a plugged tire anyway. I had WellsMoto in Lakewood do the install and the staff was awesome. Tires were inflated and chain adjusted perfectly--I've also been on the highway and the balancing seems spot on as far as I can feel, so a shout out to them.I didn't hate the stock Dunlop 205 as much as some people here, but they're impossible to find in our size. I went back and forth between just getting the rear replaced, but in the end I bit the bullet and got the set for matching purposes. I've been riding with these on my Hawk GT for several years and love them so I knew what I wanted, especially after reading all the positive comments about them here. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - rboe - 04-23-2016 Gah. 5000 miles and down to the wear bars on the front. Looks like I get to get new shoes. I'll wait till fall if I can. But I'll be snooping around looking for good ideas. My OEM Bridgestone started showing wear bars at 5K (replaced at 6K). My replacement PR3 is now at 10K miles and still looks great. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - DaSwami_imp - 04-23-2016 Good info, what sizes are you putting on your rigs in the PR3's?? I got the 110/80 & 160/60, which is what I think just about everyone running these has. Michelin recommends the 160 PR3 be on 4.25" rim minimum while ours is 4". That's pretty close, doesn't seem to be an issue, and most other brands in that size recommend even wider rim minimums for the 160 size. http://www.moderntire.com/Modern/feature2/pilotroad3.pdf RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - rboe - 04-25-2016 I'm still on my stock tires. So PR3's are on the option list. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - rboe - 04-26-2016 Reviewing this thread, checking out BikeBandit.com, Motorcycle-Super Store and Revilla; gah - the choices are limited. That said, I can go with these: Pirelli MT90AT Enduro / Dual Sport Tires! http://www.revzilla.com/product/pirelli-mt90at-enduro-dual-sport-tires However; they do seem to be available on Amazon. |
