Or $20,000 for one that is much heavier and has much less horsepower? Yet buyers will do both every day? One might also ask if someone was not interested in this motorcycle, why would they come to a forum specifically for CB 1100 enthusiasts and make disparaging remarks about their motorcycles? I hope you enjoy your Yamaha as much as I am enjoying my CB 1100. I paid $9,200 for my non-ABS and think it's worth every penny. RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - 736cc_imp - 11-11-2013 Spoke to a Honda salesman today, he told me the CB1100 will NOT be released in 2014 and was a 1 year only model. I'm not sure if I believe him or not, but that's what he said. November 20, Honda USA announces the 2014 complete lineup. RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - Gingersdaddy_imp - 11-11-2013 If this is true, I'm sure glad got mine when I did. The CB1100 is what I was looking for, for a long time.
RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - jchoby_imp - 11-11-2013 Same here.... I've been wishing for a long time that somebody make a bike that looked like what I use to desire as a kid....they did, at least long enough for me to get mine RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - flynrider - 11-11-2013 (11-11-2013, 09:19 AM)736cc_imp Wrote: Spoke to a Honda salesman today, he told me the CB1100 will NOT be released in 2014 and was a 1 year only model. That wouldn't happen to be a salesman with a 2013 model still on the floor, would it? ![]() It's been my experience that sales staff in general are less informed than the customer base when it comes to the latest info on products. Case in point, last year after Honda announced that the CB1100 was coming in 2013, I talked to salespeople at two different dealerships that didn't know what the CB1100 was. A salesperson at a third dealership pretended he knew what it was and promised he would have one in January (which happened to be when Honda started building them in Japan). Honda had already announced a Spring 2013 arrival. As it turned out, none of the dealerships knew when they were going to arrive until about 10 days before they showed up. RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - Guth_imp - 11-11-2013 [url=http://powersports.honda.com/experience/articles/090111c081281a8f.aspx]This release is from June of this year. While no guarantee, the fact that the CB1100 is mentioned would leave me to believe that it will be returning to the United States for 2014, at least in a reading between the lines sort of way. I'm certainly hoping that the CB1100 will return for another year. RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - err0neous_imp - 11-11-2013 If you go to http://powersports.honda.com you can see that all models but the CB1100 have been updated with the 2014 model information. RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - ingobohn_imp - 11-11-2013 funny ... what is called "sport bikes" on the US Honda website is simply called "naked bikes / all-rounder" on German Honda website. Seems that e.g. the CB 1100 is not sporty enough here in Europe.
RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - rboe - 11-11-2013 I guess we'll know for sure in a few days if Honda will bring her back. If not I'm tempted to pick up a second one on the cheap and slut her, I mean tart it, I mean farkle the bajeebers out of it.
RE: 2014 CB1100 ? - meowguy_imp - 11-12-2013 I think the bottom line is we will probably not see a 2014 model year. I frankly don't care. If anything, from a purely selfish point of view, I would rather not see a lot of these bikes sold because it increases the rarity of the bikes already in circulation. In other words, they may actually turn this bike into an "investment" or "collectible" rather than a "put a match to your money or chase your butt every year to keep up with new models" sort of bike. Honda probably has found that there are a few people out in the two-wheel world who will buy a bike like this and they probably have enough out there now to meet that need. Smart company. As far as accessories are concerned, folks who wanted to mess with their bike will not be deterred because there are lots of accessories for UJM's out there now. This bike in particular, has been in the world since 2007. Six years is enough time to get all the accessories for a bike anyone could want. If you want more than that you can go to a custom shop and they will make you anything you dream of. So, I am happy with things the way they are. We are driving a brand new bike, a great motor and transmission, with all the electronic goodies that looks like it was pulled out of a time machine from 35 years ago. I love it, man. As Katee Sackhoff said on Cafe Racer the other night; "I'm goin' to make this bike my b.tch." Forever.
