One of the oldest in North America in fact. if you've ever been impressed by anything in nature, you can't help but feel like you're in kind of a holy place when you visit this tree. This thing was old when the USA was born. It's really marvelous.

It amazes me a great deal more that we are (just) getting through more modern times. The ever-increasing risk-averse nature of many western societies makes it only a matter of time before we become completely paralysed with fear.
