RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - the Ferret - 12-03-2018 I'm good with someone else picking. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - SCCBrider_imp - 12-04-2018 Way back in the day we use to be able to climb it. I was about 6 years old the first time I ever saw it. I made my way up one of those large limbs to where it met the trunk of the tree. I didn't go any higher for two reasons. First I couldn't reach anything to grab, second, I was scared. Now a days I think most parents would freak out about letting their kids of that age climb a tree like that, but that was also back in the day when I went half way across the country on the back dash of my dad's Buick. It's a beautiful tree, the oldest living live oak east of the Mississippi. So they say. That's why i was pretty happy to find out what the challenge was this month. This is the one thing I can't fail at! So, I took the CB down to visit the Angel Oak RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - GoldOxide_imp - 12-04-2018 Great tree. Trees are earth's friends. It amazes me a great deal more that we are (just) getting through more modern times. The ever-increasing risk-averse nature of many western societies makes it only a matter of time before we become completely paralysed with fear. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - noroomtomove - 12-04-2018 Does anyone know what the photo topic for December is? Thanks to all who had a crack at the November Tree photo topic. Regards NRTM RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - Ben70_imp - 12-05-2018 I picked last month, the Ferret the month before. mtneers was third entry, but hasn't had a pick recently. Technically stretching the rules, but we need a topic. Would like to hear from MTC, it's kind of his baby. There definitely is that aspect too - so much in fact that it would lopside this thread upsidedown. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - dUh!_imp - 12-05-2018 Sticking with the holiday spirit, how about your CB in front of an elaborately decorated holiday scene? Also sticking with the holiday, special rule that the most elaborate wins for the month, not the first. Help promote the initiative to keep looking and posting for the grandest scenes. Not unless the first photo is your CB on stage with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, that might be over the top elaborate. How did we manage it ![]() Sometimes, when me and my friends get together for coffee, we muse about the old days and the things we did as kids that would be a horror today. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - Ben70_imp - 12-06-2018 Good idea, dUh! Could we see a sign of approval from a moderator, or a cascade of approval from the mob? Ben |
