RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Lord Popgun - 01-23-2020 No longer a Padawan Bazbro is. A CB master now he is! RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - peterbaron - 01-23-2020 PG, would I qualify to be master if I installed RLETs on my door handles at home ????
RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Lord Popgun - 01-23-2020 Hummm, a Door Master you would be. And a side benefit is you could get a job at Doormasters! RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - the Ferret - 01-23-2020 (01-23-2020, 05:54 AM)Bazbro_imp Wrote: Little bastuds... and another angel gets their wings
RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Inhouse Bob - 01-23-2020 Shoulda just ridden down to Jacksonville and had Nemo, the World Champion of the Whole World, install them. Takes him about 12 seconds for two. ![]() ![]()
RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - GoldOxide_imp - 01-23-2020 ![]() Looks like the lever is giving birth to an RLET. (eww) RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Cormanus - 01-29-2020 On April Fool’s Day 2014 I installed RLETs on my 2011 CB1100 and began this thread. Earlier this month the beast toppled over on me and left me with a shorty clutch lever. The tale of how all this came to pass may well be told in a chronicle in due course. [url=https://postimg.cc/nCZHL7yx] ![]() So, brothers and sisters, what to do? Should I: [li]Try to take the old RLET off the broken lever and put it on the new lever; or[/li] [li]Acquire a new RLET? [/li] redbirds, peterbaron and other heretics will suggest there is an option 3: rebalance the bike by ripping the RLET off the brake lever. Forget it. It is not an option. Keep your heretical thoughts to yourselves. The economics of the question are irrelevant; the critical issue is whether an intact RLET retains its mystical properties and should continue in service or, when injured or tainted, should be consigned to history’s dustbin. Or, I suppose, mounted in my personal hall of shame. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Sorry to hear of your mishap...but asking about a used RLET means that you are OK, right? They are much easier to take off than put on, and the second time you do put them on, they go on easy 'cause they're all stretched out. RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - max - 01-29-2020 Well they come as a pair, would not want to upset the balance. Think of the forethought of designing a set of levers that absorb energy, break before anything else gets damaged ( incl.rlet's ) and then keep functioning until you get an opportunity to replace them ![]() Aaaahm..... keyring ornament, momento, kind permanent reminder? we need an emoji for rlet's i think. RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Bazbro_imp - 01-29-2020 Hey! Take it easy fellas... As Max says, they come as pairs... MATCHED pairs (like pistons and gears)... They should NEVER be mixed on the same handlebar (a bit like cross-ply and radial tyres on the same axle). Further, in use they inevitably become 'worn' by rushing wind, lashing rain, etc... To replace one and not the other risks throwing the entire balance of the 'bike out. You could even fall over sitting stationary on the 'bike, it's that serious! So be warned....if in doubt about this, visit your local workshop and ask to speak to their quantum mechanic... he'll tell you.
