RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - Pterodactyl_imp - 10-02-2015 After you've scrubbed them in let us know what you think. Cheers RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - noroomtomove - 10-02-2015 Sorry I'm not in the club. Plan to ride from Home - Bairnsdale - Omeo - Bright return on Monday sure the Michelin PR3 would enjoy that ride. Regards RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - TINK_imp - 10-04-2015 Got the new PR3's installed yesterday. Short 5 mile ride, not enough to form a real opinion. Raining here today (... it never rains in sunny southern California ...). Will need to wait until later in the week to scrub them in and get a feel for the new rubber. After removing the wheel from the bike I noticed the rear OEM BT-54 was more squared off than I expected. The front looked to be in good shape, but, tread depth bars were showing on the sides, with the center grove at 2/32" deep. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - TINK_imp - 10-06-2015 Took my CB1100 out to Glendora Ridge Road (test track) to scrub in my new PR3's. WOW! First corner, sweeping left hander, touched down foot peg feeler! Now THAT's confidence inspiring traction. ![]() The biggest improvement I detected was that the PR3's track the corner smoothly without any mid-corner adjustments. The BT-54 would tend to steer into the apex of the corner and I would have to put in some mid-corner correction to steer the bike away from the inside of the turn. No such corrections with the PR3. Corner to corner transitions are smooth and predictable. This is why I have Michelin's on every bike I own. Lunch stop at Cable Airport. You can see the rear PR3 in this photo. That's Glendora Ridge in the background. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - kennyw - 10-08-2015 (10-02-2015, 09:01 AM)TINK_imp Wrote: They're here! Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered a set of tires from them. I probably will not see them by Friday, but it will give me something to do around the middle of next week I'm sure. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - dr_rock_imp - 10-12-2015 Purchased my 2013 new this Spring and I noticed cupping on the front tire at 2400 miles. I might have to order a PR3 as it sounds like a better tire than the Bridgestone. It sounds like many of you had cupping on the original front tires. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - kennyw - 10-12-2015 Cupping tends to be caused by low air pressure from what I understand. RE: Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club - Riko_imp - 10-20-2015 there are no issues putting a 160 tire on a 4" rim then? About 35000kms on all surfaces with no issues at all. Cheers |
