RE: If you are an older rider, what do you wear riding your 1100? - Django - 05-13-2017 Well, I'm so old, I cannot remember, if I'd already answered this thread. To be sure, here we go... ![]() I wear my 20 years old leather and a Shoei: ![]() or my 20 years old leather and a newer Shoei: ![]() and since last year I've been owning a Roadcrafter R3, which is very good for commuting and longer trips, where weather conditions may vary. ![]() I took the Roadcrafter also for my BB2500K, these are my friends around me, sending me farewell as witnesses.

Never the less, at 45 years old and 31 years riding, I'll leave it to someone else to decide if I qualify on either count. How is the KBC for noise? I'm looking for something quieter than my HJC. crutch I've had it since 2005 and if I remember correctly (getting old) it wasn't really any louder than my HJC but the tone was slightly different. Not a big deal to me as I never ride more than 10km without earplugs. RE: If you are an older rider, what do you wear riding your 1100? - Offroad - 05-20-2017 I see several wearing "draggin jeans." Are they too hot to wear in the summer? RE: If you are an older rider, what do you wear riding your 1100? - Nightengale_imp - 05-25-2017 I'm one of these riders that doesn't care "how I look". Don't get me started on how I think appearance based bikes / riding is so incredibly stupid. I ride with either Daniese leather jacket or Klim Badlands gear, DOT / Snell lid, and the best gloves I can afford. I've also got a couple of different sets of riding boots. I won't even get on the bike unless I've got this gear around my body. I've been down, and I've been severely injured - by the failure to wear QUALITY gear which would have made a huge difference to old injuries that I still suffer from. How you 'look' is utterly irrelevant to me - how the gear you wear works and protects you means everything (to me). Teaching my kid how to ride and I've also been picking up gear for him too. It doesn't have to match or be pretty, but it does have to work. The best I could do, to convince my adult son to wear gloves, saved his hands on his first spill! Same company. Was afraid to quote such a stupid low price publicly. Good price for a full set of armor. Just got one of these in thanks for the tip what a bargain for 25 bucks! I believe they have better armor in them than my Joe Rocket jacket that cost $100 Finally got a pair of jeans: Joe Rocket [url=https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLR045A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLR...UTF8&psc=1 No armor, but reinforced and very comfortable, plus big front pockets. The have Aramid fibers, not sure how much slide protection they will provide but has to more than the Levi's I was wearing ;-) |
