Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - GoldOxide_imp - 11-09-2019 Get your fill here: https://driving.ca/aston-martin/auto-news/news/aston-martin-teams-up-with-an-icon-to-build-its-first-ever-motorcycle RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - peterbaron - 11-09-2019 Too futuristic for me.... RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - the Ferret - 11-09-2019 Yea me too RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - Houtman_imp - 11-09-2019 A big waste of time and money ! RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - DAC - 11-09-2019 Looks really practical, economical and comfortable to ride. ![]() But seriously, this diamond studded throwback stuff gets a little old. If a maker that's been in business without interruption wants to bring out a freshened version of one of their classics (Mustang, Beetle and, say, CB) that's okay. This is different. Just buy an ancient name and throw a classic nameplate on a bike with a Goldwing front end, a turbo-d V-twin with a Kawasaki swingarm, wrap it in some carbon fiber and throw a $120k price tag on it and the press will moisten their pants. RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - redbirds_imp - 11-09-2019 Cue Buck Rogers. RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - GoldOxide_imp - 11-09-2019 I find it somewhat unexpected Brough Superior coming out-of-the-woodwork to do this kind of partnership. I guess they felt the bar would have to be respectively high for the year 2020. RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - Bazbro_imp - 11-09-2019 Brough Superior have been defunct for decades now. Without checking, my guess is that someone has bought the rights to use the trading name "Brough Superior" and then someone has done exactly as DAC has said - throw a load of proprietary parts together, and charge an exorbitant sum of money for one/5/20 or however many they think they can get away with before the project collapses, leaving many creditors, privayely wealthy management, and a sullied trade name... RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - the Ferret - 11-09-2019 The original Brough Superior went out of business in 1940. Thierry Henriette bought the rights and has been producing Broughs since 2016 https://www.cycleworld.com/2017-brough-superior-ss100-road-test-motorcycle-review/ they originally did resemble the old Broughs in a way, but this rocket ship thing is weird RE: Aston Martin & Brough Superior AMB 001 - Rocky_imp - 11-10-2019 Sorry, but I must shake my head in dismay at that!!! |
