First day with my CB1100, after 9 years - WhatYes_imp - 04-01-2022
67 year old rider who started at age 17, so a half-century of riding.
Sat on the CB in 2013 when I saw one in an Atlanta showroom and thus began my 9 years of lusting. Time, money, distractions, other bikes, etc. circumvented me ever fulfilling my lust.
Last year my sweet wife (a former rider in her own stead, with a GSX650F), encouraged me to treat myself before they put me in the ground. Spent a LOT of time on this forum, on CL, CycleTrader, etc before finally pulling the trigger a couple of months ago and bought a 2013 with 1100 miles on it from a forum member. Took 6 weeks to transport from Orlando to the mountains of Western Colorado and it arrived today.
Bike is in beautiful shape with the exception of a couple of small tank dents that I can either live with or have pulled out, and some blueing on the pipes, easily fixed. Stock except for rear luggage rack and a miniscule Puig faring.
Rode it into town (7 miles away) and loved it. Parked for a burger at an outdoor cafe and within 3 seconds of parking had a 50'ish guy asking what year it was. He thought it was a beautifully restored 80's, and this guy not only owns bikes, but has a "garage find" 550f (1980's or so) he's restoring and it fooled him. We became friends and exchanged numbers. I love that about the bike.
Love the classic seating position and the smooth pull and torque. While my GSX650F is AS smooth and at least as quick, I don't care. Had to pass a slow-poke on the highway home with one downshift and had gobs of giddy-up.
Solid and stable on the highway. Wish it had a digital gear indicator and the turn signal switch seems really stiff and kind of "sticks". Do they all do that?
When my wife saw it, it LITERALLY (and I only use that word when it literally means literally) took her breath away. "Oh my God... that's the most beautiful bike I've ever seen!" Now she wants to get back onto her GSX.
This bike isn't the fastest, or most modern or whatever, but for me, it punches all the buttons. Classic beautiful lines and looks. Quiet, smooth power. Neutral seating. Right height. It fits me.
Too bad it took 9 years.

Congrats! With only 1100 miles on the clock, you can make a bunch of burger runs to add some miles on the CB! Yes, Honda did a great design on this motor and tuned it to be ridden. Enjoy every moment on your bike

Turn signal switch sticking is not normal. Some spray should take care of that.
I digital gear shift indicator can be added. Healtech makes a plug and play unit. I have them on both my bikes. It plugs into the diagnostic connector under the left side cover. A short one time set up and its good to go.
