I did a Lake Superior Iron Butt last June. Now the guy who set that run up is doing a Lake Huron ride. I am considering it as we speak. 642 miles in Canada and 368 miles in the good old USA. In less than 24 hours. Clap

giddy I is

Sounds intriguing and awful at the same time. And the winner is ... awful. I'm out! But more power to you! Will you be riding the CB?

Yes I will be on the CB1100. If set up right for you and you alone, the CB1100 is a great bike to tour on. Or just do some easy 1000 mile days. Why do you think this is "awful"? I don't get it.

Maybe I just have a very tender, delicate backside that is used to being pampered and well cared for. I've never thought to use the words "easy" and "1000 mile days" in the same sentence. Haha. Maybe "awful" is the wrong word. Torture? Excruciating? I'm kidding, of course. But if it were easy and pleasant, I imagine there would be a lot more iron butts out there.

I'm considering this, but the logistics of getting to the starting point may be problematic.

MG...you said almost exactly the same thing as my wife did when I mentioned this post...she used "grueling" and "not fun" rather than "awful" and "excruciating". Please note: There is absolutely NO correlation between her and your opinions of the ride and the relative tenderness of your respective backsides.

This sounds really intriguing to me .

For your sake, I hope that's true.

RE: Lake Huron Iron Butt 1000 - the Ferret - 01-03-2015

MG not sure if you are aware but there is a riding event officially called the Iron Butt Rally where they run (or attempt to run) eleven 1000 mile days ...in a row. Now that would be grueling, tortuous, awful, excruciating and several other horrible terms, yet there are so many applicants that they limit it to 125 riders selected by lottery.

Going to sign up and go with me Mr. Ferret?
