E-15 fuel - Obleo - 01-20-2016 Just read an article on E-15 fuel, looks like the EPA will up the percentage of ethanol mix in our fuel. Not a good thing for bikes or atvs . Also going to install blender pumps at gas stations, but still leaves about a quart left of fuel in the delivery hose after fueling. Write your representive and make your views against this new act. Most motorcycle manufactuer's will void the warranty. RE: E-15 fuel - Motogeezer1949_imp - 01-20-2016 I use ethanol free gas in my CB. Get the Pure Gas app. RE: E-15 fuel - 4 Paws_imp - 01-21-2016 I also try to run ethanol free fuel in all of our motorcycles. Not sure it makes a difference but if I think it does then it does. RE: E-15 fuel - the_undecider_imp - 01-21-2016 There is zero ethanol free gas around me. This stinks! RE: E-15 fuel - jedd_imp - 01-21-2016 What's the app for pure gas? Is it called pure gas? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk RE: E-15 fuel - the Ferret - 01-21-2016 I use nothing but E-10, no issues. But Neither ST nor CB are approved for E 15 RE: E-15 fuel - mininsx_imp - 01-21-2016 The American Motorcyclist Association is working diligently to prevent that from happening. If you're not a member you need to be. http://americanmotorcyclist.com/News/15-08-21/Join_the_AMA_in_the_fight_against_E15.aspx RE: E-15 fuel - Paulb_imp - 01-21-2016 I've got three bikes with plastic tanks and I've had to line them all as the ethanol melts them. I also drain the tanks as soon as possible if the bike is being stored. The ethanol will attack plastic, glass fibre and rubber seals. I always fill will premium petrol which some manufactures claim to be ethanol free but they refuse to guarantee it. I understand there have been real problems with plastic tanks on boats. RE: E-15 fuel - SailorRider_imp - 01-21-2016 Pure-Gas.org is a good web site and they also have Apple and Android apps available. Unfortunately there are no pure gas location in the immediate NY metro area, but if you head upstate or into CT, there are a few. I have a metal gas can that I keep in my car, it has a very well sealed filler and vent. When I am out of my home area, I look around for a pure gas location and fill the car with it (to clear the E-10 from the hose) and then fill the gas can with non-ethanol gas. This may not always work if I am out riding and need gas, but I figure if I do my at-home refills from this tank it's better than not using pure gas at all. RE: E-15 fuel - rbike_imp - 01-21-2016 The ethanol free stations around here have a dedicated hose - it does not share with E10 87 89 91 or higher. |
