Counting number of modifications - aschem_imp - 05-04-2016 Does removing something (mirror, blinkers, reflectors) count as a modification? If so, does putting on an aftermarket mirror, blinker, reflector count as two mods (remove then install)? ![]() If I replace two stock mirrors and install two aftermarket mirrors, did I just do 4 mods? And If I change my mind and buy another set of mirrors, did I just do another two modifications? Mathematically, modifications can be difficult to track. Oh well, I'm going to go do some more mods to my CB this afternoon (air filter).
RE: Counting number of modifications - the Ferret - 05-04-2016 YES RE: Counting number of modifications - Rebel73_imp - 05-10-2016 My take: Remove stock mirrors and replace with aftermarket = 1 mod. Install aftermarket fairing = 1 mod. Remove fender = 1 mod. Paint side covers = 1 mod. etc... So basically, anything that alters the factory package. The "end result" would be a mod. If you were to simply remove the mirrors, but not replace them would also be a mod. Counting number of modifications - WhiskeyUSMC1979_imp - 05-10-2016 Just curious... Is there a particular reason you need a number attached to your modifications? Sent from an undisclosed location RE: Counting number of modifications - the Ferret - 05-10-2016 CB4ME has more than he does and he's trying to catch up? Counting number of modifications - WhiskeyUSMC1979_imp - 05-10-2016 I suppose that is one explanation, ferret. Just seems unnecessary to me. "My bike has been modified the way I like it" sounds better than "My bike has X amount of modifications" and then trying to justify X. I don't know. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Sent from an undisclosed location RE: Counting number of modifications - Rebel73_imp - 05-10-2016 He who dies with the most mods wins. Lol. Seriously, though, also wondering why the need to quantify them. RE: Counting number of modifications - Hondahawkrider_imp - 05-10-2016 Lol.. Some folks, such as myself like to find an easy way to distinguish their bike amongst others who have done so, and from stock.. Dunno about the orig poster, but that's why i do eeeet. I'll admit, I have a problem, as I can't seem to leave well neigh alone when it comes my bikes.. I always make modifications, I think it's a sickness.. If it is, I don't want to get well.. To me, there are two types of mods; Cosmetic And Performance And yeah, some can bleed over. Maybe it's the performance engineer in me (I'm this for IT in the govt). So to me it's a way to see how far I have gone and how far I want to go.. I can say one of the cool things about the CB is that there are so many cool ways to go. There isn't a standard set of mods that everyone does unlike say the drz.. Its one of the reasons I really like this board, is that I get interact/see what folks do... RE: Counting number of modifications - CB4ME_imp - 05-11-2016 I only have about 50 plus mods on my bike at the present but have gone through about twice that number. I mean how many guys would replace a perfectly good set of Force Design side panels only to buy a second set, this time with stripes? Funny thing is I never did more than a couple mods on any of my prior bikes until I got the CB. She's a farkle magnet. RE: Counting number of modifications - Papa Weeley_imp - 05-11-2016 ...oh, this is a very slippery slope we're traveling down here...actually counting mods...oh my...
