Had them sitting in the garage for a couple of months. The 7610's with the black springs and the long chrome shrouds to enhance the vintage look.
Took about 10 minutes to do, including the time to rounds up the tools
I didn't really have any issues with the stock pieces. They seemed to do their job fine. How much better could it be? I was quite surprised then, on the test ride to experience a more stable feel, less choppiness, with the rear tire sticking almost glue-like to the rough, undulating brick surface of my neighborhood streets. Hmmmm, there is something to this suspension upgrade after all.... Thanks to this forum
With the fork stiffened up, the adjusters turned in so that the top ring is flush with the top of the triple clamp, this little baby is quite the handler. Composed, solid, confidence inspiring. A great bike, made even better.

I too thought the stockers were OK, until I installed some low-end, $200 Hagons I had from a previous bike (Triumph Thruxton -- same length as stock CB). Wow. Someone asked before but I don't remember seeing the answer. Where did you find (model #) Hagons for $200?

Good stuff! They are a quality unit.
I thought the stockers on my Bonneville were OK until I installed a set of Ikons. They made a substantial difference in ride on rough pavement and in handling - combined with a set of progressive fork springs.
I haven't ridden the CB enough to make that judgement yet, but I can maybe see a set down the road.
I bought the CB last April, but due to obligations and a domestic situation (add in all the other bikes too) I only rode the CB 2000 km's this year. On 31 October I parked it for the winter, but next summer it will see much more service.

Sorry I didn't see that question before, Ferret! I bought the Hagons a few years ago at either Newbonneville.com or British Customs, off the website. Newbonneville doesn't appear to carry Hagon anymore, and British Customs doesn't have the bare-basic road shock I got on their website (they have shocks with a shroud for $240). But you might be able to find the basic road shock by contacting Hagon directly or using their website to find a dealer, here: http://www.hagonshocksusa.com

British Customs also has them in the Thruxton / CB1100 length on its website. BEWARE: the bottom rubber grommet is not wide enough for the CB1100. Unless, like me, you have an appropriately sized drill bit. Point being, it's probably smartest to contact Hagon directly. It just worked out for me because I had those Hagon Thruxton shocks sitting in my garage anyway.

I am about to pull the trigger on a set of Ikons, so I am glad to see someone else reporting good results with them.

I emailed Ikon USA to ask about spring rates. Dave, the owner called me withing a couple hours and we chatted for just a brief minute because I was at work. He sounds like he knows his stuff and was pleased to find out they do take into consideration the bike's weight and rider weight when they order the shocks from the factory in Australia. I was surprised to find out that Ikon bought out the motorcycle suspension division of Koni, so that's basically what these shocks are.
