Has anyone installed it on their bike? It can also be ordered with a smoked lens.
If you were to buy, would you get a smoke or clear lens?
I have a similar LED on my dual sport which allowed me to ditch the rear turn signals which were vulnerable in the dirt environment. I also mounted a similar LED tail light on the cruiser I had prior to my CB1100 but I used it in combination with the turn signals and liked it. I had the smoked lense on it for a while but did not like the diminished visibility so went to a clear lense shortly thereafter. I think given the chrome rear fender on our CBs, the clear would look better anyway. Let us see a picture of it installed if you get one.
Would be a nice way to ditch the large turn signals easily. May try this.
Check your state laws first. I suspect that a LEO looking to generate some revenue could hassle you about this product. Virginia has required annual state inspections and they are crazy about this stuff, for example:
"D. Signal device (intention to stop or turn).
1. Signal devices are not required on motorcycles; however, if installed, they must operate and be inspected.
2. Signal lamp lenses installed on the front of the motorcycle shall be amber and be located on each side of the vertical centerline of the motorcycle and as far apart as practicable and not closer than nine inches, measured from the optical centerline of the lamps, and to be located on the same level and not less than 20 inches above the ground level. The optical centerline of the lamp shall not be less than four inches from the retaining ring of the headlamp unit.
3. Signal lamps installed on the rear of the motorcycle shall be red or amber and shall be located on each side of the vertical centerline of the motorcycle as far apart as practicable but not closer than nine inches, measured from the optical centerline of the lens, and shall be located on the same level and not less than 20 inches above the ground level."
This is just a paragraph out of mages and pages regarding the state inspection rules!
Gentlemen,
My son accidentally broke a rear turn signal off of his Ducati with his leg when mounting up. He wanted to try one of those combo taillight/turn signal LED lights so I bought one and installed it. I ride with him and observed that light and the turn signal part isn't nearly visible enough. The tail light part is fine. I'm going back to the stock signals. I would not recommend those lights.

My tailbag, which has outlived most of my bikes, sits over the rear signals when I tie it on the luggage rack. Doesn't bend them; just covers them.
This would be the ticket...keep the turn signals but have this.
I may order it soon.
LEDs can be bright as heck, but must get the correct ones.

There is an individual who makes LED lights for Buell XB models and the quality is excellent and the light is very bright XBlights.net. I would like to know if at least one CB1100 owner has tried the light that I referred to in my original post.
