I read most of the posts on the RC1 but still have a couple of questions.
Any 6 foot tall riders with RC1 experience please weigh in. How is the wind/buffeting with the standard windshield height? Other than the light coming through around the headlamp opening any other perceived drawbacks?
Anybody with first hand experience with the Motoco fairing?

I'm 5'11" which is fairly close to 6'. The RC1 was a notable improvement over having no windscreen; it basically redirects the airflow so that it hits you around the collarbone area.
The RC1 ships with rubber trim that goes around the inside lip of the fairing next to the headlight. Light bleed at night is virtually a non-issue with that installed properly.
With the Japanese yen at such a low point, it makes sense to get the RC1 while it's relatively cheap ($333 at the moment). To be quite honest, the Motoco looks abnormally bulbous without serving a purpose for being so. The fact that it doesn't fully encompass the headlight at the bottom looks odd to me as well.
The RC1 has been redesigned so that there isn't a problem anymore with light spilling up from the headlight... I got one of the last of the older designs which does have this issue. The lip is now bigger so it covers the headlight better.
I'm 6'2" and when I sit on the bike doing > 60mph the wind is hitting me in shoulders and helmet. very little buffeting. Above 80 I start to get tossed around a bit (this is not your father's vetter windjammer) but I was expecting that.
Frulk,
I am 5'11" as well. I've used the RC1 for about 1 and a half years after 6 months on the bare bike. This fairing doesn't work like a huge windshield but it's quite functional. Here in AZ the speed limit is 75 mph so I routinely travel at 80-85 mph. The unfared bike was unbearable for long periods at those speeds. Massive wind blast and buffeting wore me out quickly. With the RC1 I can ride for hours much more comfortably. Only a fraction of the redirected air comes over the top. Most is redirected to the side. The RC1 has made my CB more useful as I do take it on long trips now, and more enjoyable to ride. Plus I think it looks great. Cheers.
