Today on the BRP I saw a Honda Silver Wing with the normal front and rear wheels but also with TWO extra full size wheels on the back .
Is this still a 3 wheeler with regards the law or is it now a 4 wheeler and only a car license is needed. They were two older people on the bike.

The one I saw still had the normal rear wheel as well , besides two extra ones.

Saw a Gold Wing parked at the dealer while the owner was there for parts or some such. It had the normal 2 wheels, plus 2 more "training wheels" that were also in contact with the ground. They were much smaller than the bike's wheels.
The service manager/head mech walked out and I asked him about it. He said it was not safe and would not pass the Va. state inspection. The owner happened to walk out at that time and was told not to bring in the bike to their shop for the annual inspection as it would fail.
I jokingly asked if it was a car as in Va. a motorcycle is defined as 3 wheels or less in contact with the ground.
There was a girl on a Suzuki Burgman 650 running around here with a set up like that, but I haven't seen her in awhile now.

Heh, heh, ... maybe the bike is a test apparatus for self-driving scooters.
