Has anyone installed a Hepco & Becker rear rack for the CB1100? If so, I interested in how you liked it. Below is the link to a product page. Thanks.

I installed the H&B Alurack last year and I love it. The tall grab bar behind the seat gives passengers a sense that they're not going to fly off the back. I'm planning on having my upholstery guy make a pad for the grab bar next time I visit him.

There were a few members that had fitment issues with the rack earlier this year. It seems that H&B may have had a manufacturing glitch with a batch of the racks. It looks like they resolved it, as a forum member installed one a month or two back with no problems.
Thanks, it's between the H&B and the Givi. They both look good.

I have the Givi and it's awesome, but be aware that the way it mounts might interfere if you have luggage mounts on the side...for example, the SW-MOTECH system...
Hi,
I have the Hepco hard bags and have been pleased. Install was a chore but mostly because I am not so bright Undecided Hardware is all there and it's all solid.
They look great and quality is sound. The hinges are the only part I question. They are just a solid bit of plastic that bends rather than a real hinge. Sort of like those Styrofoam containers you get for your carryout. On the other hand, they have held up fine.
There are several different styles to choose from. I went with the Lock-it side carrier and the Junior 30 hard cases. I would have liked a bit more storage room, but the 40s just stuck out too far for my taste, and I haven't ever had trouble getting all my stuff into the 30s. No helmet, though. Looking at the thread someone posted above with photos of the bags on a bike, those look to be the 40's. Mine have the same profile, they just aren't so deep.
I love the look of the X-plorer cases! Don't like the price so much.
I didn't get the tail rack because I foolishly thought I could adapt the OEM tail rack that came with the bike to work with this system... not. Anyhow, I've done fine without a rack on the tail, so there.
The new placement of the rear turn signals is pretty lame, but what are you going to do? They are right where you want your bags to be and you gotta do something with them.
Bottom line, they work great and look pretty slick. I'm going to keep them. Excited
Hi,
I fitted a h&b rack with the Ali. Top Box. It fits just fine and looks great. For the money tho. I am slightly disappointed that the hinges on the box are starting to rust. It's seen Summer rain but it's only been on 6 months. Also, I noticed yesterday, when I was preping the bike for winter, that some of the welded joints on the rack were starting to yellow in the creases.

So, in the description for the h&b rack it says it is cast aluminum. Is that aluminum with chrome plating? If so how is that holding up? And what is the removable "top bow" in the description. It does not seem to appear in the photo they provide. Just bought a 2014 CB standard and need to add a rack.

Thanks!

This link shows the wrong description for the CB1100 H&B Rack.
The CB1100 H&B rack is actually made from small diameter, chrome plated, tubular steel. My opinion is that there are better looking and stronger racks available such as the OEM Honda or Givi versions.

I believe that the cast aluminum rack (H&B Alurack) with removable top bow is only available for other bikes.
I ordered the Givi rack last night. I'll let you know how I like it.
