gossman,
I thought I posted saying your explanation of the weight limitation makes more sense that my guess. Thanks.
Can't speak about the Kajima rack, but the Honda rack wasn't exceedingly difficult. Just be careful not to scratch up the gray rails. You may want/have to tape them or something for protection. There were threads on this a while back and may be in the How to section. I'm too lazy to look right now...
would a givi top case fit on that rack??
I have the Givi rack on back order with 'Twisted Throttle'. They were supposed to get them in a few weeks ago, still waiting. I may have to jump ship to one of these others that are in stock.
I ended up with an 'Iron Rider' bag to attach to the rack. I went with a bag so I could use it more in the off season, over a Givi type top box.
Twisted throttle has been back ordered on that rack for the last 4 months. I ended up buying a factory rack off ebay as that was the only seller with actual stock on hand.

Time to get off the pot! I cancelled my back order with TW and ordered the same rack from an eBay seller. The store is in Italy, same rack, same picture, about $35 less expensive too. Now to see how long it takes to get here.
Ordered the black Kijima rack as first shown in this thread from SamuRider ($137, shipped) based on great reviews on the forum of their service. I already have the Tourmaster tail bag which should work nicely with that rack. Going to look at semi soft saddle bags today. Have had many hard pannier cases (Happy Trail, Pelican, etc.) on my sport tourers, but thought the soft bags would suit my current needs and the looks of our bike...and be hundreds (well, close to a thousand $

less.
Just a quick post on the bolt sizes in the factory grab bar that the rack mounts to.
Stock 8mm-1.25 x 42mm
Bolt lengths needed for the Honda rack 8mm-1.25 x 70 mm rear, 8mm - 1.25 x 90 front.
Honda does not sell the hardware by itself.
I posted hardware sizes including spacers once before.
Correction to my post it was late and I cant see in the dim light as well...
8mm-1.25 thread.
Thanks Kennyw
I found the post and I stand corrected the thread is 8mmx1.25. I was using one of those cheap plastic thread gages. Ha and it was not the best light in the shop.
So the details
2) M8-1.25 x 70 for the rear
2) M8-1.25 x 90 for the front
4) 5/15 IDx5/8 od. 3/4 long spacers.
Very Cool
