If you look at this:
http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-149Z-UN10U and watch the little video and the pics of the mount, it looks like it now comes with a tether (they call it). Mine did not come with it. But it would keep the phone from coming off in a bump.
They now come with a strechable rubber tether which securely holds it in. Zoom in my pics to see it.
uscg, I did. That's why I looked at the RAM site. Maybe I'll see if they sell them separately.
They are sold seperately. You can pick one up cheap on ebay with free shipping.

Like mine did last summer....they owe me a tether

My kit came with one but if you dont have one then you could get it separate. I think the newer ones come with it already.
Alright Chapomis! Gonna order mine shortly!
I had a standard sized RAM X mount but used it to hold a Samsung GalaxieS4 with an Otter Case.....would have to squeeze the X Mount pretty hard to fit it in there but it wasn't going anywhere. Took it off the Guzzi when I dropped it off at the dealer but now can't find the mount. Need to order another one. Really liked it with a short arm. Well made and no problems with it whatsoever.
I have a Samsung Galaxy grand prime which is same size as a iPhone 6 and I use the standard size mount, not the larger one. I watched several YouTube videos and saw that the smaller mount works better with a tighter fit. You don't want the mount arms to be right at the edge of the phone. Also most problems occurred while the phone was mounted horizontal instead of vertically. I recommend using the tether in the horizontal position or if your doing highway speeds with no wind protection.
