ingobohn..I just affixed 1 rock strap to the rack and it will hold my rain suit and form banner for the rally. How did you wrap your two? Do you have a pic? did you put a sheet of plexiglass on the rack under the bag or anything?

Unfortunately, I do not have a picture. I only remember that also on a 2 day ride with my wife I put the 30 L roll on the rack. I used 2 Rock Straps crosswise, one end at the rear bolt of the side rail (where also the Fehling rack is mounted) and the other end at the "opposite" side of the rack itself. I tightened the straps strongly.
The 50 L roll is just too large for the rack, but mainly because it sticks out laterally just too much (instable?).
When I ride alone and drive on the Autobahn, I but the roll (30 L or 50 L) over the rear seat and over the rack (for "high speed'ability").

I used the rack, to carry a small waterproof bag with my rain gear.



When travelling, I put a bag on the back seat and over the rack, to carry my luggage, like at this picture last spring in Italy.



When in need for the rain gear, I could just pull out the bag to the rear. It was fastened with a single belt.

That's me in rain gear, Eastern 2015, SaddleSore to Italy, 5°C and rain.


Later I got these nice Held saddle bags.







Finally I found a way, to mount the belt of the saddle bags under the seat.

Do you need a fixing system, a carrier or some separator brackets for that Held saddle bags? I had also the baggage holders from Fehling installed (see pics above). The saddle bags came with some straps, to fix the bottom to the baggage holder. However, I just used zip ties (Kabelbinder) to fix the bottom to the baggage holder.

Django, what does that sticker on the lower frame below the engine on the left say? Don't have that on my bike.

Popgun, it's the compliance plate showing the VIN and other information like build date. They're located there in Australia too.

Ah, I see. Its on the neck in the US.
