Same thing for me.
I purchased the factory rack from a member here and it went on quite easily using the install tutorial here on this forum as my guide.
to the seller (jrns) and our Aussie friend who posted the tutorial.

There are two different EOM Honda racks. Samurider has pictures for both. Look closely at the two Samurider provided pictures and the racks are physically different.
The one that only fits on the STD has the cylindrical cross members. It also excludes hardware to mount to a DLX.
The one that fits both models has flat cross members and comes with optional extra fittings for the 2014 red heavier DLX bike. It is slightly more expensive. It has instructions to mount this to the STD or DLX bikes.
I ended up with the one with flat cross members and extra mounting hardware and since I won't be using the topbox mounting plate then this one is best for me to lay bags on without the plate.
It's not that easy to find the luggage racks on the Samurider site. They have a bike sub-section for CB1100 DLX/EX but don't have one for the STD. However, illogically, STD parts are listed down in the DLX/EX section. Also, the rack is buried in the "body part" sub-sub-section.
If you use their search function for luggage rack it comes back with nothing.

postoak, is it right that the DL/EX rack can be used with the STD? Doesn't look like it to me.

Yes, I have that rack on my '13 so it should fit on a '14 standard.
