The Ferret has the best looking gaiters of any I've seen. I seem to recall him saying they were a Triumph part. Expensive, but a man of his means ...

I don't know if Ferret's gaiters are actually made by Kawasaki or not.

The gaiters on my CB1100 are made by Triumph, and are quite nice. Very well-made in fact.

And I believe they were quite a bit less expensive than the Kawi gaiters. I'm sure that the part #s and info were gleaned from this forum somewhere.

Yes, the part numbers are from a post by Ferret. With instructions on installing them. I just did it myself. Bought them from Dime City Cycle. They are high quality.

The gaiters I bought last year from Revzilla are 41mm dia but the outside diameter of the bellows is 3 1/4" dia. and length is 7 1/4" relaxed. I'll be selling these once I get my new ones installed.

Ferret what does your CB1100 Kawa gaiters measure?

White Dog I can't measure free length because they are on the bike, so somewhat compressed by weight of bike, but they measure 5 3/4" on the bike top to bottom and a pleat in the middle measures 2.60" or just over 2 1/2" in diameter (not circumference)

Definitely smaller (and better looking on the bike). My length measurement was also on the bike. Revzilla says they will stretch to 10".

These are the same ones the Ferret has and yes they are Kawasaki, cost around $100. His tutorial on installing was excellent.

I purchased the Kajima Gators 2 years ago. A few thoughts:

1. While certainly easy to install and took very little time, I did find in addition having to use additional zip ties then what was included with the gators to keep the lock seams together, I used cement glue on the actual lock seams....otherwise over time they would begin to separate in the rear along the seams.

2. I will say so far the Kajima's do hold up well. They are constructed of thick rubber and do not feel flimsy in the slightest. No signs of visual wear. I've been riding with them for 7k miles so far. Also, there is no corrosion on the forks underneath. I do make it a habit of checking underneath during the winter months and use chrome polish to protect against any potential moisture build up that could damage the forks...

3. The bottom of the boots are about 1/4 inch longer compared to a traditional gator install. If I was to install again, I might re-consider trimming along the bottoms a bit. I initially elected not to as I was concerned they would appear cut and not look as close to an OEM install as possible.

4. When all is said and done, while I'm ok with the Kajima's, I plan at some point to install a set of the Kawi gators.
