I picked up a set of BikeMaster DC Bar end mirrors. These are supposedly a universal fit part, but required a bit of modification to fit to the CB. When using the provided plastic spacers, the end screw is too short. When not using the spacers, the mirror // bar end weight rubs against the throttle handle and it sticks a bit. I was able to use an oversized metal nut as a spacer, and a screw that's a bit 1/4 inch longer than stock. I thought I had it all set, but when I went for a ride, the mirrors wouldn't stay in place and loosened at each bump until they just folded forward and were of no use.
I also think I may have pulled to tight on the screw when trying to make everything stay when I was on the side of the road (I "gorilla'd" it, so to speak). I had to use gorilla glue to stop the female piece from turning when I tried to attach the mirror and end weight.
Anyway, skipping the whole part where everyone tells me how dumb I am and how easy this is, any suggestions on how to make this work?
