Yes, I injured my left leg right under my knee and the inside of my left foot under my ankle and I'm still a little sore. Interestingly, my blue jeans were not even scratched and neither was my left boot. I was just bruised.
The bike had only minor scratches on the right side where it fell on the loose gravel. These minor scratches were at the bar end, the T-Rex engine protector bar and a very small scratch on the small windshield. I pretty much got rid of the scratches with a black permanent marker.
Two Harley motorcycle couples had gone by the intersection but returned and offered to help. Somehow, I managed to lift up the bike by myself and engage the kickstand to park it while I took inventory and gathered my thoughts. I then rode the bike for about an hour.
I have to admit, however, that every time I go by that spot (every time I ride because I live on a gravel road that empties into this main paved highway), I tense up.

Me too I was contemplating of getting the factory original engine guard, however, after a few days debating between SW Motec & Original, I finally chose SW Motec.
The SW Motec is a very well crafted piece of art, fits like a glove.
The black blends in with the frame - in other words no excess chrome.
Protection wise, it looked that it will do its job and it was proven by one member of this club. (cannot find the link).
Only low point (may be) is the mat black finish instead of a gloss black (my personal opinion).
I ordered mine through Twisted Throttle, even though it was back order from Germany it arrived within a week.
Note: Mr T from Samurider is a "GREAT" supplier that you can trust will move mountains to give you satisfaction.
I got from Samurider the following items: Rear Rack, Top Box, a pair of rectangular mirrors and Tank protector.
PM me if you need more information.
Alain Lee
thanks

I went ahead and installed the guards with no problem. The center stand had been removed from my bike because of the titanium headers so I took the bike over to a shop and had them adjust the chain. They went nuts over the bike and want to buy it. Also they pointed out Nicky Hayden's (Died: May 22, 2017, Maurizio Bufalini Hospital, Cesena, Italy) signature on the fairing.

I managed to get a set of SW Motech crash bars (powder-coated black) from Bike Bandit. They ship to Canada. They look great on my white cb1100A and are well built and install easily.
