Is that a manner of speaking, LR, or a wonderfully cryptic statement begging for a request for elaboration? If it’s the latter, how have you lost a helmet?

I’ve never had one taken.

I’ve never had one taken. Very observant. I've lost a helmet to a friend of my brother who borrowed it without my permission and never returned it, but I don't consider him a thief, and besides, my helmet was in the garage, not on the bike. Besides, it was an old '70's Simpson helmet, so no great loss.
The original Star Wars helmet
Very generous of you LR.
If I can see the bike from where I'm at I'll leave the helmet and jacket on the bike, but if I don't want to carry it around, I use a thin stainless steel cable to lock the jacket and helmet to the bike, unless it is very hot or very cold, and in those cases I take the helmet/jacket inside with me. I don't want to come out of a warm coffee place to put on a freezing jacket and helmet, nor do I want to come out of an airconned space and put on hot gear.
No, but I'm one of those guys that always takes the helmet with me wherever I'm at no matter what.
