I recently took a long trip on my 1994 Honda Shadow VT1100 and had a revelation. The corbin seat and buckhorn handlebars really made my 70 year old body feel much more comfortable. I needed no cushion, sheep skin or anything.

I recently bought a corbin gunfighter and lady seat with a 1 inch rise. I am now wondering if there is any way to get the handlebars in a more relaxed position so I can sit back in the new seat.

My mechanic says that it is impossible to lengthen the control cables and hydraulic lines. Honda apparently does not offer those modifications .

Any thoughts? Has anyone changed the ergonomics of the riding position of the CB1100?

Check with forum member Powerdubs. he put pullbacks on his and I believe had longer cables made.

Not buckhorn, but yes pulled back more. I didn’t need to change the lines or cables... they are tight but just enough room to work.

Those certainly appear to be an improvement. Thank you for the information. If I order:53100-KEN-305, I will get your handlebars.

I think they are a great improvement.

No risers, just a bar swap.

Be aware, you may need to drill new holes for the control nubs.

I had to anyway since I put 2013 controls on my 2014. Silly Honda moved the holes.

I think the old way was better- just clamp force.

I'm not worried about drilling. The funny thing is if you google that part number, no photo or specs are available. How did you find this particular handlebar. It seems exactly what I need.

There was someone else who put on pullback bars. I know someone was talking having cables made. My superpowers of search are failing me right now but eventually I will remember who it was. Seems to me they were from Texas. Anybody else remember?

Many hours looking around various sites on google.

I don't remember where, but I found a site eventually that listed a ton of bars and their specs so I scrolled to the honda section and picked the ones nearest to what I was looking for. I wanted as close as possible to a plug and play solution. They were cheap enough for a gamble. Paid off.


You certainly can have longer lines and cables made, but the massive pita not only for the custom work to produce- but having to deal with the mess and bleeding of both the clutch and front brake, pull the gas tank to replace the throttle cables... wasn't what I wanted to get into.

There was another guy that posted a picture of a CB1100 out on the side of a road / parking lot or something- and he had put actual buck horn bars on the bike. Don't know where I saw that post.

May not be what you are after, but this bar back riser helped me a lot.
