Hi Guys,
I've been browsing the forum and came across Chip Beck's seat thread. My Question to Chip and other owners is how is the leather holding up? Did it stretch and get wavy? I'm thinking of seeing if I can order the smooth leather on the original Corbin Seat shape, I like the little back rest hump.
I had a Corbin on my Valkyrie for 10 years. Never a sign of stretching. It that helps.

I have had 11 Corbin seats on different Honda bikes and always had them made in vinyl .
Waterproof and no upkeep, some I had on a CBX for 25 years.

Never any tears or stretches at all.
His question is about the stitching being deleted in the "Chip Beck Spec" Corbin seat. I don't have one of those so I cannot comment on your question. But, I put 50K miles on my standard Corbin and it is doing well with only minor signs of wear so far.

Gentlemen,

My Chip Beck Spec Corbin Seat is as perfect today as the day I put it on. Here's a photo of it today several years and several thousand miles old. That seat is the bomb and I think it looks better without the stitching.

I'm sold! Keeps the look of the bike without the stitching.
I have the Chip Beck Spec Corbin seat and still love it. I ride xcountry and never get butt or back sore. The seat now has 29k on it and is showing some cracking (shows a few lines of white underlayment) on the left side ... the side I mount from 99% of the time. I have always put a leather protectant on it every month or so, so I don't think leather maintenance is the problem. Put some black show polish on the cracks now every so often. Love this seat ... thanks for doing all the research work for me Mr Beck Smile
