I have a 2017 CB1100EX and wanted to mount a Lucas style tail light in place of the huge OE tail light, so. . . I bought a used 2014 rear fender (didn't want to modify the OE fender in case I wanted to put it back to stock) and the other bits and pieces I thought I needed and made the modifications. I used a Lucas style frame/mount from Dime City Cycles and a nice Joker Machine LED tail/brake light with a nice cushy rubber gasket between the tail light frame and fender. It turned out really well I think, except for one problem I discovered at the end of my project. The front end of the 2014 fender is significantly different than the front end of a 2017 fender and I won't be able to mount it on the bike -- Crap! The back end is also a little different with the various holes in different places and such, but those differences made the mounting of the tail light much better. Anyway, if anyone with a 2014 wants to make this very simple change to your 2014 CB1100 let me know and maybe we can work out something. Pics and details are available for the asking. The fender was $114, the Joker Machine light $110 and the tail light frame/mount about $60. With the mounting hardware (fasteners, spacers, electrical connectors, etc, etc.) it all ran me close to $300 for parts alone, let alone my time. Anyway, the whole thing is available for a fraction of that, if anyone is interested.
