Ah, okay. That makes a bit more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Skypilot... I installed the full Yoshimura System on my 2014 bike. I have no idea if it boosted performance as I installed it right after I got the bike.

I choose this system on looks alone as it replicates the pipes from the 70s. I just think the black pipe makes a huge difference in looks too. It changes the whole look of the bike. If I could post pictures I would to show the difference. You could PM Me and I could send them?

As for the sounds from the pipe? I was very surprised as to how quiet the pipe is. I was expecting a much louder sound. For me and my riding which is exactly like you 90% in town 10% elsewhere it is perfect. Nice sounds but the cars next to me do not roll up the windows due to the noise.

Bottom line I love it.
Good info here; I love my '13 CB1100, that I got a couple of months ago, but it is too quiet by far. I've modded the exhaust on almost every bike I've owned to get just a little growl. Don't like grandma's hairdryer sound. I live in SoCal, lane-splitting is legal, and I know for a fact that a bike that makes a little sound alerts cagers to your presence. I've drilled six three-eighths holes under the end piece, with not much result. I think I'll enlarge them to half-inch. And kudos to Goldoxide for the black hole pic.

Thumbs Up

Good luck with your drilling progress CB.

I heard the astro physicists are leveraging their recent M87 learnings and scanning for a closer, smaller black holes in our galaxy. I suspect this is the new age of astronomy with some wicked imagery to follow.

Will do. I just landed in FLA so I’ll give You a PM tonight. I agree on the black changing the looks of the bike. It always has for me in the past
In the good old days hot rodders would mill the head and/or install thinner head gaskets to raise compression and boost power output. One of the first consequences of emission controls engineering is reduced compression ratio. Probably holds even more so for an air-cooled engine.
