Great write up. I use the same Ram X-mount, but the rubber grips have worked themselves loose from the glue that secured them. I’m blaming extended exposure to heat and sunlight.

I mounted two USB ports on the bar and wired them to a switched connection (in the headlight bucket). I have my iPhone X in a waterproof case all the time — that makes the X mount a little snug, but it works. The rubber bands hold it in place. The Xmount won’t always hold the phone by itself—don’t ask me how I know this.
Awesome gents. I'm sold. Ram X-mount it is. Amazon pricing seems reasonable but it doesn't qualify for Prime.

Now to decide between headlight and seat. EmptySea was the headlight straightforward once you acquired the right connector? I am assuming nobody ever found a direct match to the connector. I believe you have to cut it off and add another.
I just went to Amazon and searched for Ram mount and they all are Prime.
popgun has found the correct connector for the headlight as I recall. If not he's certainly found the source of the connectors.
Q - I may have exaggerated my level of involvement in the usb installation. In fact, I had my Honda dealer do the install when my bike was in for service.

I do know, and even have them but I’m not telling anyone anymore http://www.cycleterminal.com/hm-sealed-series-090.html Everyone just has to find out for themselves http://www.cycleterminal.com/hm-sealed-series-090.html So there Big Grin
ROFL
If you have a local Cycle Gear they sell them there. Not every possible option but a couple of complete kits with ball mounts that clamp to bar and then either a short or medium arm and the X Grip mount. Make sure you get the one sized for your phone.
I bought a USB adapter from ebay and wired it to the accessory wires inside the headlight shell. Easy peasy.

I would love to find a how-to for this (possibly with pictures) on this forum. Can someone link to one? I've been searching, but never seem to find the right search term that will yield the right post(s). I keep having to read through countless threads only to not find exactly what I'm looking for.
