Hi,
As I'm settling in for a looooong winter, I'm thinking about the CB1100RS I'm going to be riding from next spring. I'm hoping/planning to have my SO join me for a few longer trips, and need to start thinking of a luggage solution.
I want it to be GORGEOUS, it should have decent capacity, I want it to be fairly easily detachable, and when removed I don't want pipes and brackets to ruin the absolutely stunning lines of the RS too much. Is this a tall order?

Perhaps I can ask for some pictures (with descriptions) from those of you who think you've solved this little riddle?

Thanks,

Tormod
SW-Motech makes the SLC system which comes close; but you are looking for a unicorn. Smile

Another brand that escapes me at the moment, makes a mount system that detaches save a couple small bits (thought it was SW-Motech but I was mistaken). Otherwise, I think soft luggage is going to give you the naked bike look when not mounted. E.g. Giant Loop's Great Basin - looks like a huge horse collar. While targeted mainly to dual sport used it on my old Griso.
Thanks. The SLC looks pretty good, I can live with that size bracket. I think they're a little small for long rides two up, but maybe, maybe. I have to figure out if I can get them here and perhaps take a look. The Great Basin looks like I'd have to choose between it and my GF's a**, and sorry, Giant Loop. Smile
I am very happy with SW-Motech side racks, Honda rear rack due to quality & durability.
I had them 3 years on my '13 CB and transferred over to '14 -2nd year, total 70,000 kms ridden, cannot go wrong with them.
Do not know what they make for RS.
Good luck
Check out this website, Hovmod. These two had a Hepco & Becker set up. http://www.wanderingsouls.be/the-big-change/

The SCL is great, and I love the Motech Legend Gear. I did a cross Eu tour with these, no problem but for my next tip I am planning to get the larger and lockable Urban ABS from Motech.

But!!! ...if you are planning to tour two up, forget it.. passenger cannot reach the pegs when bags are attached unfortunatley.
I have a Givi top box that came with the bike. I leave the gigantic box off and only the mounting remains.

Ouch. Really? Oh, no.
Is that just with the Motech gear, or do you mean any luggage will be in the way? I am absolutely planning on having a passenger.
