Replaced stock Dunlops at 10,579 miles with Pirelli Scrambler tires.

Front came from Dennis Kirk, rear from local Honda dealer (dealer could not get front until September).

Front tire balanced with no weights. Rear tire balanced with less weights than factory Dunlops.

Three different staff at the dealer commented favorably on the tires' appearance.

After 2 1/2 hours at the dealer and a stop at Fat Burger, I headed for the mountains.

Front tire responds quicker than stock Dunlops, otherwise not much different handling on the asphalt.

After an hour riding, it just felt normal.

Took it to 5,000 RPM in 6th and it felt very smooth.

Went to the top of Lee Canyon (8,668') and snapped a couple photos of wild horses grazing on the meadows. Shoulder was gravel and moderate drop from the asphalt. Bike climbed back onto the road easily.

Headed to Deer Creek Road (highway 158), where I paused at the Desert View Overlook to send a text, as Upper Lee Canyon (highway 156) is a no service area.

Got a few big raindrops as I put back on my gloves. Heading south to Kyle Canyon (highway 157), moderate rain was pooling heavy on the road.

A grader and sweeper were working the road, so no gravel across the road, just some silt.

Tires handled quite well. Rain cleared just before I got to Kyle Canyon.
Rain not heavy enough to affect my modified snorkel.

Carhartt long sleeve T was not quite soaked (probably thanks to the Dart Marlin), as were the knees of my Wranglers, but I was dry before descending to ~5,000 feet. Las Vegas Valley 114 F, with Mt. Charleston 78 F.

CB seems unaffected by the heat.

Treated the CB to its second coin-op wash, then came home and lubed the chain.

Used to be a forum member who lived in Alaska that scramblerized his CB, interesting photos and ride reports that you can probably still find.
I routinely do some simple gravel roads but understand my limitations, which are greater than the bikes.

That would be me, 4 Paws. I have 4000 miles on that tire setup and loving every second of it.

Only 200 miles on them, thus far, but VERY pleased.

Thanks for info. Was looking for something like you config, but mech's said they would not fit bike. Love this forum

Awesome! How many miles you have on them now? I'm considering riding from NY to Alaska and then swapping yo dirt tires for the Dalton highway up to darkhorse... these are the first off road capable tires I've seen used on our CBs

I put two thousand mikes on them in two months before a health issue compelled selling the CB. Good wear expected if WOT in first gear minimized. The scrambler tires were so much better getting back on a 2 lane after stopping on unpaved shoulders for photo ops.

55 years of riding ended at 71 years and 7 months of age.

Confirm Dead Horse?

I know Sportster riders who went as far as Tok, but the roads I have seen north of Fairbanks may be difficult for the CB.

Fort Yukon, 8 miles north of the Arctic Circle, is as far north as I have been (twin engine Piper), but driven all of Alaska's highways 1, 2 & 3, which would be fine on the CB.
