Many thanks. I've been quite happy with the mod.

It’s funny what different people notice. I never noticed the earlier grab rails but now I can’t unsee them!

I seem to notice them when I need something to hook a bungee cord to.

Anyone else have to fab up some adapter brackets?
Today I found out the hard way about the differences in the frame welded brackets throughout the years

Ohhhhh...that's just a bit off. Now if this were a cousin of my KLR650 I'd recommend the tried and true heavy duty zip ties.
I was curious and did a search for "[url=https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS751US751&q=adapter+brackets+for+motorcycle+grab+bar&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiflqfV9o7nAhXbPH0KHZsxD48Q7Al6BAgDEBk&biw=1164&bih=526]adapter brackets for motorcycle grab bars" and at least it shows a bunch of photos, maybe that will get you started with ideas?

Different year racks came with a different bracket set up. Get the right rack for your model /year is highly recommended.

I see that. Thing is, I ordered an RS "hoop style" grab rail, so the part was never intended for my bike. If I had a '17 CB11 it seems like this would've fit as a direct plug-and-play bolt on with no modification
To the fellow RS owners on here: Can anyone confirm is these frame bracket differences also apply to the RS models? (Is there 2 versions of the grab rail with differing mounting points at the frame brackets)
TIA
