I installed the Yoshimura guard on mine. I did it for the trick look. It goes well with the Yoshimura Exhaust and License plate Mount.
Hey TVG - that Yoshimura oil cooler guard actually looks pretty good - maybe one of the best I have seen anywhere.
I thought about getting one but only for the looks/bling factor.
I have a Fenda Extenda on the front fender which reduces the risk of a debris strike. I have never had a mishap on any bike with a rad or oil cooler in 28 years so gave up the idea.

We have crap roads around here and suffer the same occasional rock especially after winter. However, we have lots of bugs here including massive June bugs that sound like rocks when they hit your helmet. I spend quite a bit of timing dislodging bugs from the fins. I have a couple of nice cooler dents now but I'm uncertain as whether they are bugs or rocks. I'm thinking of going this root as well.

I did the same, hate look of the stock radiator!
In case anyone's considering the R&G oil cooler guard, here's what it looks like installed on the 2017 CB1100EX. Just added it tonight.
