I've not ridden for 18 months or so and it's surprising how, er, 'hesitant' I was on the ride. Probably more to do with age in combination with being off the 'bike for so long, rather than just time away.

But it was great to get back in the swing if it! And I didn't consider my hip once.
How about you, pb? Did your knee "remind" you at all?

The fire to ride continues to burn from within.

Yeah, the quick and sudden progress happened few days after, took advantage of it and kept bending my knee at 100*

Ridden my BeeEmm for the first time this week since my hip replacement!
Took the river ferry crossing at Dartmouth (home of the British Navy) and along to Slapton Sands, scene of the Operation Tiger disaster (Google it). A Devon cream tea (Google that too!) then home again, along the beautiful coast road. Not that far, but twisty, slow Devon roads through little villages.

Meanwhile, the poor CB languishes on the bench, awaiting the rest of the Whitehouse bits and the exhaust. September at the earliest, I fear.

Love all these military stories and glad your hip is OK now

Trick?

After replacing battery there was very healthy crank but not firing, almost, but no.
Check spark/OK, smelled no fuel/both relays OK, so opened throttle just a little bit and she fired instantly and died agin. Repeat throttle trick again and was holding at 1500 for 3-5 more seconds and let it go again , resulting in smooth running ever after. Repeat starting several times = no issue. Possible IdleSCSV got momentarily stuck due to long sitting since November. No MIL/ELO present.
...and today tested through 200 miles with 5 stops = OK

Had to update this.....
Today, my annual visit was fantastic, all is OK and next one is three years from now,
Here is my complicated knee, that works fabulously...



The bottom line: all those who need knee replacement: get it done ASAP by reputable orthopaedic surgeon, don't delay. No regrets.
