Hey all,

Just got my bike back from a valve adjustment (forgot to ask for clearances) and dyno tune. When I bought my bike it had a Pipemasters 4-into-4 catless exhaust system, I also discovered that the previous owner put a K&N filter in there. I installed the Power Commander 5 myself before I handed my bike over to them, it's a very simple install if you can get the tank off.

Obviously these numbers are not a great absolute reference as each run is going to give you slightly different numbers based on what kind of dyno you're using, ambient temp and humidity, and the tuner's setup. That said, these guys have a very good reputation and I thought it would be of some interest to someone, surely. My 'before' figures are also not a good 'stock' reference, since it had a basic map on the PCV for the '17EX already and some airflow mods, but hey.

It's not a huge difference by any means, but feels slightly peppier and runs smooth as ever, if not slightly more smooth. I noticed a dip in the butt-dyno power levels around 3500rpm before the power commander install which as you can see is clearly gone now. The thing that I liked the most was the super flat torque curve, the CB has such a nice little engine.

As long as the shop doesn't screw up anything, Dynojets are extremely comparable.

The SAE written in the upper corner is the correction factor you have the chart adjusted to which takes into account the temp, humidity, etc. You can change that in the drop down menu to uncorrected for the real power you made that day, or other such as STD, or DIN, EEC.

As a real world example, I live in NJ, and a friend lives in Cali. We both owned the exact same car, with the exact same extensive modifications. You could load both of our dyno run files into the software, and when the correction was applied they would overlay and look like it was the same car, same place.

I also had a custom tune done on my car by a shop that said they could beat the tune I already had- so I dynoed at a shop the night before, then drove to CT and he tuned and dynoed there....and I drove back to NJ and re-dynoed so I had independent before and after numbers. Overlay was perfect. I love Dynojet and if I ever win the lottery I am buying my own to play with.

Like Ben, and anyone else who dynos on a Dynojet- I highly advise you call the shop and ask them to email you the run files. Quick and easy to do- lets you look at them as you change things around, or compare directly *corrected* with other peoples runs. I always just bring a usb thumb drive with me when I dyno, but email is easy because the file size is tiny- KB.

What did the shop do to your bike to tune it? I only see a mention of the power commander, so guessing they adjusted the fuel table and ignition curves were left alone?

I haven't looked at what Dynojet targets on a '17 file- but interesting to see you were pretty much 12 across the board.

Gaining 4whp from fine tuning is no joke. And a reason I advise to do the auto-tube box over a canned tune alone.

I bet those pipes sound glorious. On that note- I wonder how reading the tail sniffer on 1 cyl affects compared to a standard pipe with it smelling all 4 cyls.

Easiest thing you can do to pick up more power cheap is the TSR airbox inlet clone on Ebay.

Hey Josh! I think on the '17 they made changes to the airbox to make the need for the tsr piece less necessary!

They did change it- I dynoed all 3 pieces (14 inlet, 17 inlet, tsr piece)

The TSR made a little more power, a little more intake sound some might not like, and ran leaner so don't put it on a stock bike.

Looking to install my PCV over the weekend, would anybody kindly confirm what the part # should be from DynoJet that's plug-and-play for our bikes?

I'm not sure if this is the same one I saw years ago.

I remember it being pretty much exact as the TSR, and this one has a clearly larger radius. This is also more money than I remember the other knockoff. I could be wrong.

Gotcha, anybody happen to have pictures of the PCV for the CB11? It looks like DynoJet PN: 16-040 is the only one that will work on our bikes. Unless anyone can tell me otherwise

Check the other post for updates- I show 2 different ones depending on the year, but the only difference I can see on the pdf is the O2 sensor.
